Did You Know?
Adams is one of only a handful of NBA players to spend their entire 13-year career with one franchise, making him the epitome of franchise loyalty in an era before free agency changed the landscape of player movement.
The 1976 NBA Finals Game 5 — the triple-overtime classic between the Suns and Celtics that is widely considered one of the greatest games ever played — featured Adams as a central contributor in one of basketball's most historic moments.
Adams's playmaking ability from the center position in the 1970s and 1980s was so advanced for his era that modern basketball analysts often describe him as a player born two or three decades too early to receive proper recognition.
When he retired in 1988, Adams had set multiple franchise records for the Suns that stood for years and had played on more Suns teams than any player in franchise history at that point.
