Bennedict Mathurin arrived in Indiana as the No. 6 pick in 2022 and immediately looked the part, earning All-Rookie First Team honors on the strength of a downhill scoring game built around drawing contact and living at the free-throw line. A torn labrum ended his 2023-24 season early and cost him that playoff run, which makes his 2025 comeback the real story: he gave Indiana instant bench offense on its run to the Finals, including a 27-point Game 3 outburst against Oklahoma City before the Pacers fell in seven. His swing skill remains the jumper — when the three falls, his downhill slashing gets much harder to wall off. A February 2026 trade sent the Montreal native to the Clippers, reframing him as a movable scoring wing rather than a franchise centerpiece.
