A change-of-pace scoring guard who spent his best years as Orlando's spark off the bench. Anthony went 15th out of North Carolina in 2020 and quickly showed he could pile up points in a hurry, but as the Magic's young core matured he settled into a streaky sixth-man role. Then the moves came: dealt to Memphis in the 2025 Desmond Bane trade, bought out, a quiet year in Milwaukee, then a deadline flip to Phoenix that ended in a waiver. In 2026 he took an unusual turn for a player still in his mid-twenties, signing with Melbourne United of Australia's NBL for 2026-27. His game has always risen and fallen with his jumper, and the bet down under is that steady starter's minutes are what get it back on track.

Defensive Game
Average defensive contributor. Effort is present but size and positioning limitations make him a neutral factor at NBA level against skilled ball-handlers.
Intangibles
Understands his role clearly and makes smart decisions in secondary situations. Second-generation NBA pedigree contributes to a mature understanding of professional basketball culture.

Did You Know?
His father Greg Anthony played 11 seasons in the NBA and is now a prominent television analyst — making Cole one of the most media-connected young players in the league.
Cole wears number 50 as a tribute to his father Greg, who wore that number during his professional career.
He grew up in Portland, Oregon, before relocating to New York City for high school at Archbishop Molloy — a bicoastal upbringing that exposed him to distinctly different basketball cultures.
He was one of the most recruited players in the class of 2019, holding offers from Duke, Kentucky, and virtually every major program before choosing the Tar Heels.
