Did You Know?
Theis plays for the German national team alongside fellow NBA players like Franz and Moritz Wagner — part of the most talented generation of German basketball players in history.
He was born in Salzgitter, an industrial city in Lower Saxony, Germany, that has no historical association with basketball — making his journey to the NBA a particularly remarkable story of individual talent overcoming geographic limitations.
Theis' Boston years coincided with the development of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, making him one of the veteran presences who helped shape that franchise's core during a critical development window.
He set a career-high 27 rebounds in a single EuroLeague game for Brose Bamberg — a number that reflects his rebounding instincts and positional discipline developed in European competition.
Career Honors
