Jamal Cain

Jamal Cain is the undrafted grinder's blueprint. After four years at Marquette he reinvented himself as a graduate transfer at Oakland, exploding for 19.9 points and 10.2 rebounds and sharing Horizon League Player of the Year — the leap that earns an unheralded name a summer-league look. Miami signed him undrafted in 2022 and stashed him on a two-way, and he's spent his career proving motor and length travel: two seasons in Miami, one in New Orleans, now Orlando. In 2025-26 he was one of the Magic's steadiest two-way pieces, and his role grew when it counted — up to about 17.6 minutes a night in the playoffs, which pushed Orlando to convert him to a standard deal and later pick up his option. The counting stats stay modest, but energy wings who defend and rebound without needing plays run for them are how rotations get rounded out.
