Mo Bamba arrived with a rare physical profile — a No. 6 pick in 2018 whose reported 7-foot-10 wingspan was among the largest ever measured at the draft combine — and the promise of a rim-protecting center who could also step out and shoot. That two-way stretch-five projection never fully stabilized into a steady rotation role. After his Orlando years he became a journeyman, and 2025-26 was his most fragmented stretch yet: waived before opening night, a G League run, a brief stop in Toronto, then a pair of 10-day deals — just a handful of NBA games all season. Heading into the 2026 offseason he was an unsigned free agent, his path back to a standing roster spot genuinely uncertain. The tools were always real; the consistency never quite followed.
