Ron Harper Jr.

Ron Harper Jr. carries a famous last name but has earned his NBA footing the hard way. The Rutgers standout — second-team All-Big Ten and author of a half-court buzzer-beater over top-ranked Purdue — went undrafted in 2022 and ground through two-way deals with Toronto and the G League before landing in Detroit and then Boston. In 2025-26 he became a useful piece off the Celtics' bench, appearing in 29 games with a few starts, including a February assignment guarding Kevin Durant. He's a physical 6'6" wing who defends up a position and spaces the floor, and Boston values the fit: the club declined his team option to hand him a three-year deal in June 2026. The bloodline is real — his father won five titles, his brother Dylan went No. 2 in 2025 — but Ron Jr.'s minutes are self-made.
