Tarris Reed Jr. grew up in St. Louis, starring at Chaminade College Prep and Link Academy before signing with Michigan. He spent two seasons in Ann Arbor, developing from a reserve into a starting center (9.0 points, 7.2 rebounds as a sophomore), then transferred to UConn. As a junior in 2025-26 he anchored the Huskies' run to the national title game, posting 14.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks on 61% shooting and earning All-Big East First Team honors. Reed is a broad-framed rim-runner who finishes through contact, rebounds in traffic and protects the paint as a drop defender; his limitations are a lack of floor-spacing range and foul-prone perimeter coverage. Denver drafted him 26th overall and traded him to San Antonio, where he projects as a backup five offering interior toughness and lob-catch finishing.
