He holds a journalism degree from Lehigh, which he parlays into his role as a NBPA president and prominent media voice in basketball.
His older brother Errick McCollum is also a professional basketball player who has had a long career in Europe.
McCollum was named NBPA president in 2022, making him one of the most influential player representatives in the history of the union.
