Dwight Powell

Powell has been with the Dallas Mavericks for over a decade — making him one of the longest-tenured players in franchise history and a bridge between the Nowitzki, Dončić, and Flagg eras.

He tore his right Achilles tendon in January 2020 — the same injury that sidelined Klay Thompson for a season — and returned to play meaningful minutes for Dallas the following year.

Powell is one of Canada's most quietly successful NBA exports, playing most of his career in the same region as several other Canadian-born NBA players but receiving less national recognition than stars like Andrew Wiggins or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
