Thompson scored 37 points in a single quarter against Sacramento on October 29, 2016 — the most points scored in any NBA quarter in history, requiring 13 consecutive field goals at one point in the run.

He set the all-time single-game three-pointer record with 14 made threes against Chicago on December 5, 2016, surpassing his own Splash Brothers partner Curry's previous record of 13 set earlier that year.

Thompson returned from two consecutive season-ending injuries — ACL in 2019, Achilles in 2020 — to play a crucial role on the 2021-22 championship team, a comeback that defined his character as much as any of his records.

His father Mychal Thompson won two championships with the Lakers in 1987 and 1988, making the Thompsons one of the great NBA father-son champion lineages.
