Tyler Kolek

Kolek was named Big East Player of the Year in 2024 despite being primarily known as a pass-first point guard — a recognition of his complete two-way development at Marquette.

His father John Kolek was a college basketball player, giving Tyler a basketball pedigree and early exposure to the sport's fundamentals.

Kolek was selected 34th overall — meaning the Knicks invested a second-round pick in a player many projected as a first-round talent based on his Marquette production.

Playing alongside Jalen Brunson in practice every day, Kolek has access to one of the NBA's best point guards as a daily blueprint for professional point guard play.
