    1999-2000

    The Minnesota Timberwolves retired Malik Sealy's number 2 not for a championship or an All-Star career, but as a memorial — one of only a handful of NBA numbers retired in recognition of a life lost too soon. Sealy was selected 14th overall in the 1992 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers out of St. John's, a 6'8" wing whose defensive intensity and willingness to do the secondary work made him exactly the kind of player winning teams need.
