Jeff Green

Green underwent open-heart surgery in December 2011 to correct an aortic aneurysm — a life-threatening condition discovered during a routine physical — and returned to professional basketball less than a year later.

He is one of the few NBA players in history to have played for more than twelve different franchises across a professional career spanning nearly two decades.

Green has been an outspoken advocate for heart health awareness since his surgery, encouraging athletes and non-athletes alike to pursue regular cardiac screenings.

His Georgetown career was coached by John Thompson III, and Green credits the Hoyas' disciplined system with instilling the defensive principles and positional versatility that made him a durable NBA player.
