Aaron Nesmith

Nesmith was the 14th pick in 2020 out of Vanderbilt, shot 31.8 percent from three in two Boston seasons, and went to Indiana in the 2022 Malcolm Brogdon trade. The Pacers got a different player: a starting wing who takes the toughest perimeter assignment and has shot above 40 percent from deep in Indiana. In Game 1 of the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals he hit six fourth-quarter threes at Madison Square Garden, the most by any player in a playoff fourth quarter since 1998, scoring 30 in an overtime win Indiana stole from 14 down late. A knee sprain held him to 45 games in 2025-26. Boston judged a small, noisy sample; Indiana got the shooter underneath it.
