Alex Sarr

Alex Sarr is the Washington Wizards' young franchise center, a 7-footer out of France who reached the NBA through Australia's NBL with the Perth Wildcats before going No. 2 overall in the 2024 draft. His rookie year earned All-Rookie First Team honors, but the sophomore leap is where the profile got serious: he averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 2025-26 while ranking second in the league in blocks, behind only Victor Wembanyama. What makes Sarr effective is rare mobility for his size, letting him switch onto guards on the perimeter and still protect the rim, so Washington can defend without chaining him to the paint. The outside shot is still catching up, but the two-way frame and improving passing point toward a cornerstone.
