Ben Simmons

Simmons is the most argued-over player of his draft class, and the early résumé is not in dispute: Rookie of the Year in 2018, three straight All-Star selections from 2019, All-NBA Third Team in 2020 and All-Defensive First Team in both 2020 and 2021. At his peak he was a 6-foot-10 primary creator who guarded all five positions. Back surgery and the absent jump shot reshaped everything after that, and by 2024-25 he was averaging 5.0 points and 5.6 assists in 51 games. He signed a one-year deal with Sacramento. He signed for one year in Sacramento. The defensive versatility is the part that never actually left, and it is why teams keep offering him a roster spot.
