Brooks Barnhizer

Barnhizer arrived in Oklahoma City as the kind of do-everything wing who fills a box score without needing plays run for him. At Northwestern he became the first Big Ten player since Michael Redd to clear 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists inside his first 96 games, and his senior year (17.1 points, 8.8 boards, 4.2 assists before a January foot injury cut it short) showed a real connector. Defense is the calling card: Big Ten All-Defensive honors and 2.3 steals a night trace the instincts that earn two-way minutes. His rookie run with the Thunder was a quiet one, 40 games of mostly low-leverage time while shuttling to the G League's OKC Blue. The path to sticking here isn't scoring, it's proving he defends and connects enough to hold a roster spot.
