Christian Braun, born November 4, 2002, in Overland Park, Kansas, arrived at the Denver Nuggets as a 2022 first-round draft pick and immediately did what few rookies do in today's NBA — contributed meaningfully on a championship team. Selected 21st overall out of the University of Kansas, where he won a national championship in 2022, Braun joined a Nuggets team already operating at the highest level and found a way to matter. At Kansas, Braun was a key contributor on a talented Jayhawks team that included Ochai Agbaji and Remy Martin. His 2022 championship run at the college level gave him championship DNA before he ever stepped on an NBA court. He was known for his energy, defensive work rate, and willingness to knock down shots when given open looks — all traits that translated directly to what the Nuggets needed from a young wing. In his rookie season (2022-23), Braun appeared in 80 games and averaged 6.1 points in 19.6 minutes per game. More importantly, he played in 21 playoff games, including the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat, contributing defensive energy and athletic finishes that made him a trusted rotation piece during Denver's championship run. Becoming an NBA champion in his first professional season — following his college championship the year prior — made Braun one of the rare players to win consecutive titles at different levels. His second season showed development in shot creation and confidence. Braun's willingness to compete defensively on guards and wings, his improving three-point consistency, and his motor in transition make him a player Nuggets coach Michael Malone can rely on for stretches when the stars need rest. He represents Denver's investment in young, winning-culture players who understand their role without needing the spotlight.

Did You Know?
Braun won championships at the college level (2022 NCAA title with Kansas) and professional level (2023 NBA title with Denver) in back-to-back years — a remarkably rare consecutive achievement.
He grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, just 40 miles from the University of Kansas campus, and was a local recruiting success story for the Jayhawks.
His nickname among Nuggets teammates is 'CB', and he has been praised by coaches for his professionalism and coachability despite being one of the youngest players on the roster.
Braun played 21 playoff games as a rookie, more than many players see in their first several seasons, giving him postseason experience that most guards his age lack entirely.
