Dennis Schroder

Schröder's NBA career reads as a long tour of useful backup point guard work, and his international career reads as something else entirely. He was named MVP of the 2023 FIBA World Cup and MVP of EuroBasket in 2025, both while leading Germany — the kind of double that almost no NBA role player has on his record. In 2025-26 he averaged 10.8 points and 4.9 assists in 24.2 minutes across 70 games for Cleveland and Sacramento, then was traded to Charlotte in August 2026. The gap between what he is for his club and what he becomes for his country is the most interesting thing about him, and the most under-discussed: international basketball rewards a different set of skills, and he has most of them.
