Williams had the season everything else gets measured against in 2024-25: 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.6 steals on 48.4 percent shooting, a first All-Star selection, All-NBA Third Team, All-Defensive Second Team, and a championship. He averaged 21.4 in the playoffs and put up 40 in Game 5 of the Finals against Indiana. Oklahoma City signed him to a five-year extension worth up to $287 million on the back of it. Injuries then held him to 33 games in 2025-26, where he posted a career-high 5.5 assists but shot a career-low 29.9 percent from three — a healthy season is the whole question now.

Defensive Game
Underrated defender with a 6'10" wingspan. Guards multiple positions and contributes in passing lanes. Has elevated defensively each season.
Intangibles
Advanced feel for the game — elite at drawing fouls, manipulating defenders, and making the correct read at game speed. His pace and shot selection are exceptional for a player his age.

Did You Know?
Williams chose Santa Clara over multiple offers rather than waiting for a high-major opportunity, betting on himself in a smaller program — a decision that paid off with three straight conference Player of the Year awards.
He wears #8 as a tribute to Kobe Bryant, one of his primary basketball inspirations growing up in Southern California.
His stop-and-pop mid-range pull-up draws comparisons to Kobe and Durant for its combination of footwork and finishing touch.
Williams was the 12th pick of the 2022 draft but has statistically outperformed every player selected above him.
