Williams went undrafted out of TCU in 2018 and reached Oklahoma City two years later in the Steven Adams trade, which turned out to be the whole career: he is one of three players who were there for the first season of the rebuild and still there for the 2025 championship. He won an NIT title at TCU in 2017 as well. Knee surgery in September 2025 cost him the first 18 games of 2025-26, and he averaged 6.5 points across 56. Oklahoma City declined his $7.2 million option and re-signed him for one year at $5 million, which is roughly what a player of his kind is worth and rather less than what he means there.

Secondary scorer who takes what the offense gives — open corner threes, drives in transition, putbacks off offensive glass. Efficient within his limited shot diet without overstepping.
Defensive Game
Versatile defender who guards positions 1 through 4. High effort, good defensive angles, and physical strength make him a reliable piece in OKC's rotations. Communicates switches and rarely gets caught out of position.
Intangibles
One of the most intellectually engaged players on OKC's roster. Understands spacing, timing, and how to help teammates perform better. His four-year college education at TCU built a thorough basketball foundation.

Did You Know?
Williams went undrafted in 2018 but impressed the Toronto Raptors organization enough to earn a G League contract — his path from Abilene, Texas to a stable NBA career mirrors the grinding, undrafted journeyman story that OKC specializes in developing.
He is called 'K-Will' by Thunder teammates, a nickname that followed him from his TCU days where he was known for his reliable motor and do-everything style.
Williams' all-around college stat lines (13.5 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 4.0 apg) placed him among the nation's most statistically complete small forwards — a profile that scouts undervalued because of his draft class competition.
He credits his four years at TCU with teaching him the professional habits that earned him an NBA career — the discipline of a four-year player in a competitive conference prepared him for the grind of proving himself in the G League.
