Simone Fontecchio

Fontecchio is a floor-spacing wing whose game translated from Europe before it ever needed a highlight reel. He spent a decade in Italy, winning an Italian Cup and three Super Cups with Olimpia Milano, then went from undrafted afterthought to a real NBA rotation piece with Utah in 2022. Detroit and now Miami followed, where he re-signed in the 2026 offseason. What he offers is quieter than a stat line suggests: constant relocation off the ball, a quick release that bends a defense even on nights the shots miss, and the gravity to open driving lanes for teammates. For Italy he has been a lead scorer, most memorably at the Tokyo Olympics. Miami values exactly that low-maintenance spacing.
