Durant was the second overall pick of the 2007 draft — chosen one slot behind Greg Oden, who was plagued by injuries throughout his career. That draft decision is widely regarded as one of the most lopsided in NBA history.

His 2013-14 MVP acceptance speech, in which he looked at his mother Wanda and said 'You the real MVP,' brought audiences to tears worldwide and became one of basketball's most cherished moments.
