John Martin Collins III is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Collins was selected with the 19th pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2017 NBA draft.

Collins averaged 19.2 PPG and 9.8 RPG as a sophomore at Wake Forest before declaring for the draft — numbers that his efficiency-focused game in Atlanta reflected almost exactly in his prime NBA seasons.
His partnership with Trae Young in Atlanta produced some of the most efficient pick-and-roll statistics in the NBA from 2019-2022, with Collins' lob-finishing averaging over 70% field goal percentage on those actions.
Collins is known in locker rooms as one of the hardest workers in the building — a reputation that has allowed him to maintain roster relevance through multiple roster transitions.
He grew up in West Palm Beach, a Florida basketball hotbed that also produced other NBA players, and developed his game through AAU competition alongside several current professional players.
