Da Silva is the third German player on the 2025-26 Orlando Magic roster alongside Franz and Moritz Wagner — an unprecedented concentration of German basketball talent on a single NBA team.

His decision to play four years at Colorado rather than leaving after one or two seasons made him one of the oldest and most experienced players in the 2024 NBA Draft class, an unusual choice in an era of one-and-done decisions.

He grew up in Munich, Germany — the same city that produced multiple elite European athletes across multiple sports — and developed through German youth basketball before coming to America for college.

Da Silva is the highest-drafted player from the University of Colorado since Chauncey Billups (third overall, 1997), giving the Buffaloes one of their most celebrated recent draft achievements.
