Icons who defined the franchise's identity
Numbers raised to the rafters forever
The New York Knicks are one of the NBA's most iconic franchises and a founding member of the Basketball Association of America in 1946. Playing at the legendary Madison Square Garden — "The Mecca of Basketball" — the Knicks captured championships in 1970 and 1973 with a roster featuring Willis Reed, Walt "Clyde" Frazier, and Bill Bradley. Patrick Ewing anchored the physical, defensive-minded teams of the 1990s that rivaled Michael Jordan's Bulls. Despite a championship drought stretching decades, the Knicks remain one of the most valuable and culturally significant franchises in all of professional sports. The franchise has seen a resurgence under Tom Thibodeau, with Jalen Brunson leading a competitive roster back to playoff contention.
