Cam Whitmore

Cam Whitmore arrived in the NBA as a big, powerful wing whose draft-night slide made him one of the 2023 class's bargains. A springy 6-foot-7 scorer out of Villanova, he attacks closeouts in straight lines and finishes above the rim, the kind of downhill athlete who generates easy points in transition. Houston drafted him, but a crowded wing rotation limited his runway, and in July 2025 the Rockets dealt him to Washington for two second-round picks — a change of scenery meant to unlock consistent minutes. Instead his first Wizards season was cut short: he was shut down and later diagnosed with a venous condition, ending the year after just 21 games. The tools that made him a coveted prospect are still there. What Whitmore needs now is health and reps to sharpen his shot selection and defensive discipline into a rotation-ready two-way game.
