Egor Demin is a 6-foot-9 playmaking guard from Russia whose size lets him see passing lanes over the top of a defense. Brooklyn took the BYU product eighth in 2025, betting the shooting would come, and it did faster than anyone expected. After hitting just 27% from three in college, Demin buried 38.5% as a rookie and set an NBA record with a made three in 34 straight games. He averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds over 52 games (45 starts) before plantar fasciitis ended his season in March. The overall efficiency (39.9% from the floor) still needs cleaning up, but flipping his biggest college weakness into a strength in one year is the kind of development curve teams dream on.
