KJ Simpson

KJ Simpson built his reputation at Colorado as a shifty lead guard who could score in bunches — the kind of pull-up shooter defenses had to track well past halfcourt. Charlotte grabbed him 42nd in the 2024 draft, and by 2025-26 he'd carved out real NBA minutes (14 games, a couple starts) before a hip injury stalled the run and the Hornets waived him in February. Denver moved fast, signing him to a two-way days later. What stands out isn't one box-score line; it's how quickly a second-round guard bounced back onto a contender's radar, now splitting time with the Grand Rapids Gold. He profiles as a change-of-pace scorer who still has to prove he can defend and steady a second unit at this level.
