Porter has had three back surgeries in five years — a microdiscectomy at Missouri in 2017, a second after Denver drafted him in 2018, and a third in 2021 — which makes the rest of this remarkable rather than merely good. He won a championship with the Nuggets in 2023, playing 62 regular-season games and 20 in the playoffs. Traded to Brooklyn, he posted a career-high 24.2 points with 7.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 2025-26 before a strained hamstring cost him time.
