Powell made his first All-Star team in 2025-26, at 32, in his eleventh season — averaging 21.7 points on a 60.9 percent true shooting mark for Miami. It is one of the more unusual career arcs in the league. He won a championship in Toronto in 2019 as a rotation piece, then moved through Portland and the Clippers before the scoring role finally arrived, and he now plays in Chicago. The efficiency is what makes it real rather than a volume artefact: he scored more than he ever had while shooting better than he ever had, which almost never happens at that age. Most players discovered late turn out to be volume mirages; the true shooting number says this one was not.
