Scotty Pippen Jr.

The son of a Hall of Famer, Pippen carved his own lane the hard way — undrafted out of Vanderbilt, a two-way contract, and eventually a real NBA role in Memphis on the strength of his defense. He's a pest at the point of attack, generating steals at a rate that ranks among the league's best per minute, and his 2024-25 run as a Grizzlies backup showed a genuine table-setter who pushes pace. The 2025-26 season, though, was cruel: recurring big-toe trouble limited him to 10 games before a sesamoidectomy ended it early. When healthy his line pops — over 11 points, near five assists and close to two steals a night in that brief stretch — but availability is now the question. Memphis expects him back at full strength for camp, ready to reclaim the backup guard job.
