Tre Jones

Tre Jones is the connective tissue every rotation wants but few notice. The younger brother of Tyus Jones, he came out of Duke as a defensive-minded, pass-first guard and spent his first four-plus seasons in San Antonio, where he was the steady hand who kept the offense organized and rarely beat himself — a genuinely low-turnover creator. Chicago acquired him at the 2025 deadline and liked the fit enough to re-sign him that summer; in 2025-26 he posted career-best scoring (14.1 points) alongside 5.4 assists while running the second unit and often closing games. He won't stretch defenses from deep the way some modern guards do, but the value is in the control — pace, ball security, on-ball pressure — the unglamorous work that makes a five-man group function.
