Tyus Jones is one of the most reliable backup point guards of his era — a steady floor general renowned for elite ball security and one of the best assist-to-turnover ratios in NBA history. A 2015 first-round pick out of Duke, where he was the national champion Most Outstanding Player, he built a long career running second units in Minnesota, Memphis and Washington, and even started as a full-time lead guard. In 2025-26 he bounced between Orlando, Dallas and the Denver Nuggets in a reduced role. Jones' decision-making, poise and near-flawless care of the ball have long made him a coach's favorite.
