He was one of only a handful of players in the 2023 draft class to spend all four years at the same university before entering the draft, a rarity in modern one-and-done college basketball culture.

Brown's SEC Player of the Year award at Missouri was the program's first such recognition in over a decade, reflecting his dominant senior season against elite competition.

Growing up in South Carolina, Brown credits AAU basketball with exposing him to elite competition that ultimately prepared him for the college game faster than his local competition could.
