Marc Gasol is one of the finest passing and defending big men of his generation, and the franchise cornerstone of the Memphis Grizzlies' 'Grit and Grind' era. Over 13 NBA seasons he made three All-Star teams, earned 2012-13 Defensive Player of the Year and 2015 All-NBA First Team honors, and averaged 14.0 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists across 891 games — a center who could anchor a defense and run an offense from the elbow. He won his lone championship after a 2019 trade to the Toronto Raptors, then closed his NBA career with the Lakers before returning home to play in Spain. The Grizzlies retired his No. 33, and he stepped away from the game in 2024.
