Tyrese Proctor

Proctor is a long-term bet more than a finished product. An Australian guard out of Sydney, he spent three seasons at Duke before Cleveland took him 49th overall in the 2025 draft — a second-round flier the Cavs liked enough to hand a four-year deal. His rookie season followed the familiar second-rounder arc: real opportunity when early injuries opened the rotation, then a squeeze on minutes after Cleveland added guards at the trade deadline. He averaged 5.4 points and 1.5 assists in limited run. What the Cavs are developing is his size and shooting at the point — a 6-foot-5 guard who can defend two positions and space the floor is a valuable archetype on a contender. The modest production is exactly what you'd expect from a rookie buried on a deep roster; the developmental fit is the point here, not the box score.
